"I will never leave you nor forsake you" Hebrews 13:5 KJV

Lonely... Alone... Many feel that way during the winter season - the holiday season - the season to give, the season to share, to be merry, to be Christ-like.
I have read accounts of people found alone, dead of hypothermia. Not in the mountains, not somewhere lost in the frozen fields, but in the city, in their home. No one missed them, no one noticed soon enough. Heartbreaking. These were alone and lonely people - for the most part elderly or some "different" from most of us. But then again, maybe I am "different" from a lot of you. How do you qualify "different", by who's standard?
From the dictionary on my laptop: 1 not the same as another or each other; unlike in nature, form, or quality : you can play this game in different ways. | ( different from/than) the car is different from anything else on the market. • informal novel and unusual : try something deliciously different. 2 distinct; separate : on two different occasions.
As born again, Holy Ghost filled - baptized in Jesus Name believer, I am different from the world. I now have taken on the same nature as my brothers and sisters, keeping my personality, my culture, my likes and dislikes, my taste and my preferences. We are all one body, one mind and one accord. But I am still me.
Why do some feel lonely or alone? According to the Scriptures, we are never alone. Granted we must do our part and reach for God. But what about the loneliness? Am I doing my part? It is one thing for me to feel lonely, but an entirely different thing for someone to feel lonely when all the while I could have done or said something to warm their heart. A word, a smile, a hug, a hand shake. I do try to be sensitive - but I make lots of mistakes. Recently I offered to pay for the rest of the groceries of the obviously poor young family on front of me at the market - they declined - I should have done it and gave it to them afterwards, the man was embarrassed on front of the clerk.
It is my desire to have a closer walk with the Lord, to be more available to Him, for I know that my hands, my feet need to do and go where He desires. As for my lips... I need help to talk less and listen more. Maybe I am lonely... I'm waiting on Him.

❀ The Master's business

"The fruit of the righteous is life; and he that winneth souls is wise"
Proverbs 11:30 KJV

It just dawned on me how much the lady I take care of has changed. Is it because of my personal ways? Or by the force of circumstances in her life? Or is Jesus talking to her?
Two years... She has watched me live my life - day in and day out.
In the Scriptures about husbands and wives, we read: "...they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives" 1 Peter 3:1 KJV
Living with Jean, is as close as you can get. So I understand it works the same - we are "in private". I see her, she sees me.
Does she see my God?

❀ Let it flow

It rained.
Cleansing, refreshing, life giving rain.
Everything looks perky after the rain. Nature had a shower. The colors are more vivid and there is obvious signs of new growth. I love the fresh smell after the rain, it's invigorating.

"... according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost." Titus 3:5 KJV

~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~
I was thinking about the Holy Ghost rain. Got to have it. Living in this temporary place, in a less than conducive environment, we collect dust and impurities. We need the washing of the Holy Ghost to keep a healthy holy glow. Holy Ghost rain fall on me!!!

"Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!" Psalm 107:1, 8, 15, 21, 31 KJV
~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~
This was the very first Scripture that God gave to me. My life on earth will not be long enough to thank Him for what He has done for me.

Everyday is a new beginning. A new sunrise, fresh beauty to behold, and a new sunset.
Let me be as a little child and see the wonder of it all, anew, each day.

❀ Somewhere in the world, in the cities of America, in California, here ...

Jesus love the little children, all the children of the world,
Brown and yellow, black and white,
They are precious in His sight,
Jesus loves the little children of the world.
~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~
This one is my grand baby girl, Naomi Roseberry - 22 months
~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~

When it comes to children, something rises up in me and I become a she-bear. The Scriptures talks about in the lasts days "without natural affection", and we are right smack in it. Children all over the world are in need.
The love in my heart... I've got to give it out!
I can't go to China or Africa, Europe or South America, but I can make a difference where I live.
Let the Jesus in me be the Jesus they see.

❀ Safe in the House of the Lord

•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•

•~•~•~•~• Dark, cold, fear, out there... alone... without God. •~•~•~•~•~•

Our dwellings are havens of peace and safety. Many times over the years, people have come to sojourn in my little place and made the remark of feeling safe and peaceful.

•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•
"He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty." Psalm 91:1 KJV
•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•

•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•
"He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust...." Psalm 91:4 KJV
•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•

Today we had a situation where a group ran into my yard and stepped in my front door. Children. They were afraid. It all turned out alright. I love these families so much. These kids love coming to Sunday School.
My heart is full. I want to hold them all close and keep them warm and safe.
Thank you Lord for what you are doing. Open door for more to come and find out about You. Fill them ALL with the Holy Ghost.

❀ When the sky is darkened ...

•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~
"I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety."
Psalm 4:5 KJV

•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~

On the corner of Jamboree and Santiago, families have set up camp after evacuating their homes a week ago. Life goes on. A little boy celebrated his six birthday. These people don't even know if they have a home to go back to. And now the Santa Ana winds might pick up again ... My heart goes out to them. I don't know their name, haven't seen their faces, but my eyes well up with tears a I read their story. Pray ...
How does anyone handle these situations without the assurance of God's providence? Old hymns often come to my lips and bring comfort to my heart when I need a touch. I feel so close to my Savior when I sing to Him, His peace comes down and surrounds me. And I am safe.

❀ What do I know ?

"I have held many things in my hand, and I have lost them all; but whatever I have placed in God's hands, that I still possess."
Martin Luther
•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•

"Preserve me O God: for in Thee do I put my trust."
Psalm 16:1 KJV

•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•

"I trust you Lord". How often we say these words. But how often do we live like we believe it? Yet, every time we try to "help" God, we just make a mess out of it. Then it takes longer for His will to be done because now, He has to fix things up first, and then we go on again.

Today is a special day. It's a beautiful day. It's a perfect day. It is the day that God has made. The night broke into dawn. The birds are chirping in the trees, in a short while they'll flock by the dozens to the feeders and the air will be full of life. The wonderful scent of roses in full bloom is like perfume rising from the earth. Life, precious life.
The simplest, smallest wonder of nature is by far more beautiful than anything man could ever come up with. Have you ever wished you could change the color of a wild flower or it's leaves to make it better? the plumage of a wild bird? the shape of a cloud? the number of petals on a daisy? the pattern on a butterfly's wings? the stripes of a tiger? the spots on a giraffe or dots on a lady bug? the length of the arms of a starfish or of the legs of a crab? They are perfect.
Awesome, perfect, nature is perfect, the handy work of God the Creator.
